Żwirownia Brzegi has a large colony of Riječni Galeb on the island, and Mala Čigra and Crvenokljuna Čigra also nest there. The terrain is varied: shrubs, grasses, deciduous trees, ponds. Among the other birds you can encounter are Egipatska guska, Vjetruša, Veliki ronac, Veliki Trstenjak, Crnogrli Gnjurac and Zimovka.
