Description
During the spring many waterbirds breed in the Ruda Fishponds Grebes such as Mali Gnjurac, Ćubasti Gnjurac and Riđogrli Gnjurac. During migration many ducks can be seen, most interesting: Patka Lastarka, Patka Žličarka, Patka Kreketaljka, Patka Pupčanica and Kržulja, and sometimes others. Vodomar can be seen every time on the river flowing through the complex. In the reeds you can hear and see Brkata Sjenica, Veliki Trstenjak, Sjenica Mošnjarka, Trstenjak cvrkutić and various other species of warblers. In the sky raptors such as Štekavac, Škanjac, Kobac and Jastreb. Various songbird species live in the nearby forest as well. During the migration plenty of shorebirds stop by.
