Description
During the spring many waterbirds breed in the Ruda Fishponds Grebes such as Mali Gnjurac, Ćubasti Gnjurac and Riđogrli Gnjurac. During migration many ducks can be seen, most interesting: Patka Lastarka, Patka Žličarka, Patka Kreketaljka, Patka Pupčanica and Kržulja, and sometimes others. Vodomar can be seen every time on the river flowing through the complex. In the reeds you can hear and see Brkata Sjenica, Veliki Trstenjak, Sjenica Mošnjarka, Trstenjak cvrkutić and various other species of warblers. In the sky raptors such as Štekavac, Škanjac, Kobac and Jastreb. Various songbird species live in the nearby forest as well. During the migration plenty of shorebirds stop by. Krivokljuna Prutka, Prutka Migavica, Šljuka Kokošica, Pršljivac, Crnokrila Prutka and Mala Prutka being the most common ones.

One small parking spot behind the bridge on the river. Click on the P in the map for directions. Don't wander of the paths as it's a privately owned area. The area can only be visited on foot. The circular route indicated on the map is about 5 km.
