Description
You can explore the entire Veines peninsula and also the platform over the sea where several bird species can be observed, including Crna njorka, Veliki Vranac, Morski Vranac, Crvenokljuna Čigra, Arktička čigra and gulls. Some shore birds as Kulik Blatarić or Morski žalar can be observed all summer, and Oštrigar may nest on the beach during summer there. Inland you can spot Troprsti Zlatar, Pršljivac, Sova močvarica, Štekavac and Škanjac gaćaš.
Water birds as Gavka and Mali ronac and also a diversity of small birds as Modrovoljka, Bijela strnadica, Zelendur, Planinska sjenica, Sjeverna juričica and Bijela Pastirica contribute to the very interesting diversity. In fact all parts of the peninsula are good for birding.

Access
By the main road you acces Veines and you park the car at the begining of the walking trail. Click on the P in the map for directions. You can walk all over the peninsula on the left when you start walking. At some point of the walk up in the mountain you will find an observatory. It is also possible from the end of the peninsula (lighthouse) to spot whales during migration.
