Description
Park Randenbroek is part of an old stream valley. The name Randenbroek therefore refers to its original location, on the edge of a marsh. The park was transformed in the 19th century into a romantic English landscape style. Despite its small size, the park has a wide variety of trees, plants and birds. Throughout the year you can see about 35 species of birds here. There has been a Siva Čaplja colony in the northeast of the park for more than 30 years. The number of nests varies. Sometimes more than 40 nests can be seen high in the trees. The herons are present in the park from February to July.

Nederlands: Het Rijks monumentale Park Randenbroek is onderdeel van een oud beekdal. Langs het park stroomt nog steeds de Heiligenbergerbeek. De naam Randenbroek verwijst naar de oorspronkelijke ligging, aan de rand van een moeras. Het park is in de 19e eeuw omgevormd naar een romantische Engelse landschapsstijl. Ondanks de geringe oppervlakte kent het park een grote verscheidenheid aan bomen en struiken, planten en vogels. Door het jaar heen kun je hier zo'n 35 soorten vogels zien. In het noordoosten van het park zetelt al meer dan 30 jaar een reigerkolonie. Het aantal nesten varieert. Soms zijn er meer dan 40 nesten hoog in de bomen te zien. De reigers zijn in het park aanwezig van februari tot juli.

Park Randenbroek is easily accessible from the center of Amersfoort. Parking is possible on the southern entrance or in the surrounding neighborhoods. Click on the P in the map for directions.
