Description

This road is located right next to open Jomo Kenyatta Airport land which is a mini savannah ecosystem of open grassplains dotted with whistling thorns and small acacia trees. This land is also very close to Nairobi National Park which is perhaps why there are so many different types of wild birds.

If you are staying in this area before taking your flight back to Europe or a simply just living in Nairobi then this is a good place to spot a lot of birds.

You can see African Paradise-Flycatcher, Little Bee-eater, Common Bulbul, Yellow-rumped Serin, East African Citril, Pied Crow, African Grey Flycatcher, Hamerkop, Variable Sunbird and many more birds.

Access

This road is located on the edge of the Syokimau suburb which is adjacent to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport. There are many little hotels and bnbs here which serve as places to stay before people get their flight out of Nairobi. So you can explore the area on foot if you are staying in one of these places.

If you live in Nairobi then park your car at Gateway Mall which is located at the entrance of this road and then take a walk along Syokimau Airport Road.

Take a two to three hours to explore the area by foot or with a bycycle.
