Muguga Forest is located 20 kilometers west of Nairobi. It is an indigenous forest with planted trees plus grasslands that is home to interesting bird species.
Muguga Forest is an indigenous forest at an elevation of 2089 metres. Most of the birds are the highlands species which includes: Augur Buzzard, Long-crested Eagle, Little Sparrowhawk, African Goshawk, Malachite Sunbird, Northern Double-collared Sunbird, White-browed Crombec, Singing Cisticola, Hunter's Cisticola, Cinnamon Bracken-Warbler, Pale Flycatcher, African Wood-Owl, Cinnamon-chested Bee-eater, Moustached Tinkerbird, African Pipit (Jackson's), Red-collared Widowbird, White-winged Widowbird, Jackson's Widowbird and Golden-breasted Bunting.
Muguga Forest is located 20 kilometers west of Nairobi. There is parking, birding is done on foot.
