Description

Spring and autumn are best for this oasis. Passerines include Primorska Bjeloguza, Riđoglavi Svračak, White-eared Bulbul, Kukmasta Ševa, Crnoglava Grmuša, Istočna velika grmuša and Zapadna grmuša. Wetland birds include 3 species of egret, Riđa Štijoka, Siva Štijoka, Kosac, Gak, Čaplja Danguba and Žuta Čaplja, Crna Roda and Bijela roda. In the surrounding desert there may be Prepelica, Ćukavica, Bjeloglavi sup, Stepska Eja, Prugasti orao, sinajska rujnica, Desert Owl and Tristram's Starling. There is a raised walkway, hides and a cycle track.

Access

By road the site is 70 miles east of Amman, where day tours, car hire and taxi hire are available. Advice is to carry plenty of water and avoid midday heat. The cycle route is 12 km and the raised walkway 3/4 of a km.
