Former gravel pit in the outskirts of Padova with a lake, trees and some small reedbeds.
Part of the area belongs to a public park, while the rest is private (and not well kept). Still, it is possible to walk all around the lake (around 45 minutes + birding stops). There is a roost of Čaplja Govedarica, a feral small population of Kanadska guska and recently some Mali Vranac. In the last years, wintering birds have included Siskin, Močvarna Strnadica, Sivi Popić and Sjenica Mošnjarka. Other nice birds are Čapljica Voljak, Vodomar and Vuga. During spring migration several passerine birds stop for a few days, including Grmuša čevrljinka, Muharica and Crnoglava Muharica. Rarities are possible (Collared flycatcher in 2018).
On sunny weekends a lot of people visit the area, so expect disturbance.
Free parking at the entrance of the park. Easy to access (public area). Walking paths are also accessible but not so well kept in the private area.
