Discarica di Cremona is not a pretty site, but especially in winter it is possible to observe large concentrations of gulls, storks, herons and ibises, several of which are ringed. Among the birds you can encounter are Crvena lunja, Crnoglavi Galeb, Bijela roda, Galeb Klaukavac, Galeb Klaukavac, Burni Galeb, Mali tamnoleđi galeb, Patuljasti orao, Crna lunja, Čaplja Govedarica, Sacred Ibis, Galeb klaukavac, Riječni Galeb and Škanjac.

Access
The landfill is located on the outskirts of Cremona. It is possible to park in an open space in front of the landfill. Click on the P in the map for directions. Climbing the embankment you can see the birds in the landfill. However, I recommend continuing on foot under the embankment and climbing it away from the landfill, and then progressively get closer to the landfill itself, so as not to make the birds fly away. The surrounding fields can also harbour interesting birds. Note: being a landfill and rubbish dump, pay attention to sanitary aspect! It is not possible to enter the landfill and I strongly advise against it.

Italiano: È possibile parcheggiare in uno spiazzo davanti alla discarica. Salendo sull'argine si possono vedere gli uccelli in discarica. Tuttavia, raccomando di proseguire a piedi sotto l'argine e salirci lontano dalla discarica, per poi avvicinarsi progressivamente alla stessa discarica, in maniera tale da non far volare via gli uccelli. Interessanti anche i campi circostanti. Essendo una discarica premunitevi dal punto di vista sanitario (rubbish dump, pay attention to sanitary aspect!). Non è possibile entrare dentro la discarica e lo sconsiglio fortemente.
