Lardia Valley is beautiful deep gorge which is perfect for many migrating songbirds!
Lardia Valley is located between Vatousa and Andissa, and provides some unique views over the deep gorge with surrounded wooded hills. The area is a great foraging spot for many species of migrating songbird. A road leads you through this area, and multiple lay-overs provide you with some great spots to search for migrants (see map).
On the northern side of the road, the wooded hills provide great spots for migrating songbirds, like Muharica, Vuga and Šumska Crvenperka. Especially in the morning, this road is perfect to stop as much as possible to look for these birds. On the southern side of the road, rocky outcrops provide great breeding habitat for typical inland species, like Brgljez kamenjar, Hridna lastavica and even Vrabac kamenjar.
Check the hilltops for raptors, like Zmijar and Riđi škanjac.
There's a road leading through the area between Vatousa and Andissa. Several lay-overs are present where you can park your car and check the surroundings.
