Description
Usedomer Strand is located near Peenemünde. From the beach you can easily observe migrating and resting birds. In winter, the Baltic Sea is full of sea ducks (like Crna patka, Patka ledara, Patka kulašica, Patka crninka) divers (like Ćubasti Gnjurac, , Riđogrli Gnjurac) and swans. Loons (Crvenogrli Plijenor, Crnogrli Plijenor) migrate across the Baltic Sea.
In spring, groups of songbirds fly parallel to the dune forest to their breeding areas. From August onwards, individual Limikols (such as Bijeli Žalar, Žalar Cirikavac, Rđasti Žalar, Oštrigar) are on the beach and terns are on the water. From the smallest (Mala Čigra) to the largest (Velika čigra) everything is possible. In late autumn the geese (Lisasta Guska, Sjevernomorska guska, Tundra guska) fly to their resting areas. Štekavac is often observed in this area.
