Description
In Schellbruch reserve close to the city of Lübeck you find different types of habitats with a great variety of birds in a rather small area (although the complete reserve is not small at all. The reserve is managed by the NABU (German organisation for protecting nature) and a local organic farmer.
Good all year through but best in late spring. Fantastic place for Modrovoljka, Veliki Cvrčić, Brkata Sjenica, Štekavac and Woodpeckers. In autumn also great flocks of geese in some years. Kulik Sljepčić and Vivak occur as well as Vodomar. Winter is good for Veliki svračak, Bijeli ronac, Veliki ronac and sometimes Bukavac.
