Description
The 7.7 hectares nature reserve Kragenhof bei Fuldatal near Kassel is made up of shallow water areas and two islands, the Enteninsel and the Ralleninsel. Outside the breeding season, various water birds visit the area to rest. Due to the flow of the river Fulda, many areas are ice-free in harsh winters, so that high bird densities are achieved here. The estuary area of the Espe and shallow water areas east of the peninsula are interesting birding areas outside the nature reserve. Rarities such as Patka crninka, Mali ronac, Štekavac or Gak are occasionally reported.
