Description
Bamberg attracts thousands of tourists every year. If you search a place for closeby birding the Luisenhain is the perfect choice. On days with good weather you will have to share it with many other visitors, so an early start is recommended. Among the more sought after species for the international visitor are Crvenoglavi djetlić, Batokljun, Vatroglavi Kraljić, Kukmasta sjenica, Kratkokljuni puzavac, Kratkoprsti puzavac and Vuga. Crnoglava Muharica breed in several of the nest boxes present throughout the whole park area. Near the pond and the paths along the river the chances to see a Vodomar are good. In the winter waterbirds ( Veliki ronac, Mali Gnjurac, Glavata Patka, Patka Batoglavica and maybe Bijeli ronac) are present close to the tip of the peninsular and near the weir.
