Scrub and open mesobromium grasslands with typical breeding birds like Rusi Svračak, Vijoglav, Smeđoglavi Batić, Crnoglavi Batić, Grmuša Pjenica, and one of the most important Ševa Krunica population in northern Bavaria, as well as resting birds like Primorska Trepetljka, Sivkasta Bjeloguza or Eja Strnjarica.

Access
The area is only accessable on foot. The circular walking trail you see on the map is about 4 km. You best get there by car, best parking at the water station next to the crossroad Oberlauter - Oberwohlsbach - Fornbach/Weißenbrunn.
For public transport you can take bus line 2 from Coburg to Oberlauter and leave at "Oberlauter Rathaus".
