Peninsula at the east, tidal flat coast of the island Sylt. Crowded by waders, terns and seagulls especially during the migration period in spring and autumn.
Hörnumer Nehrung is not a big breeding spot, but the peninsula creates a protected and safe spot for the birds during high tide. Guided trips led by the Schutzstation Wattenmeer are recommended, because their volunteers are also responsible for the regular spring tide countings and know the area best.
Take the bus to Hörnum Nord or park your car near one of the guest houses around. Access by bike near the beach, walk the rest across the dunes. Please keep in mind that access to the dunes is forbidden all year! Please stay on the designated paths.
