A pretty park on the edge of the town of Ettlingen with a great mix of habitats and plenty of birds.
The Horbachpark was created as part of the state garden show of 1988. The little Horbach stream flows through the park and into a lake. There are many paths and benches throughout the park. The lake and the surrounding grass and reed fringes are home to Crvenokljuni Labud, Divlja Patka, Liska and Mlakuša. Around the edges of the park and beyond, there is an attractive mix of gardens and allotments. These host a good variety of Tits, Finches and Woodpeckers, including Crnoglava sjenica, Dugorepa Sjenica, Batokljun, Čižak and Zelena žuna.
In the woods adjacent to the park, it is possible to observe Jelova sjenica, Kukmasta sjenica and Zlatoglavi Kraljić. Raptors like Škanjac, Crvena lunja and Jastreb can often be seen soaring over the woods and slopes above the town. If you're in Ettlingen the park is well worth a visit. It's also a great place to combine family time at the playground with a bit of birding.
The Horbachpark is located on the outskirts of the town of Ettlingen. The park is best accessed on foot. There are various parking options and public transport links nearby. Click on a P in the map for directions. The circular walking route indicated on the map is about 2,5 km.
