Hedwigenkoog is essentially quite similar to other coastal areas. Accordingly, typical waders and waterfowl can be expected here. The fields are particularly interesting from mid-August to mid-September during the migration period of the Šareni kulik. These use the largely obstacle-free area as a resting place almost every year.

Hedwigenkoog is located north of the town of Büsum. There are various cycle paths through the area. The best way to explore the area is by bike or on foot.
