Description

At 1,379 meters, Mount Salève attracts numerous tourists every year, both summer and winter, who come to admire the panorama from the summit of what is commonly known as the 'Balcony of Geneva'. Mount Salève offers breathtaking views of the city of Geneva and its surroundings, and you can admire the sunrise or sunset from its summit.

Mount Salève is part of the Jura mountain range. Its northwest slope is steep and rocky, with vertical walls. Ideal for birds of prey and the Crvenokrili litičar that catches insects along the walls of Salève. The southeast slope is more gently sloping, covered with conifer and deciduous forests. Many plant and animal species live in these areas. Birds you can observe include Crna lunja, Ušara, Sivi Sokol, Gavran, Crvenokrili litičar and Žuta strnadica.
