Mountain pass with hikes and views of beautiful rock formations. Good area for Corsican Nuthatch.
The Aiguilles de Bavella (Needles of Bavella) are rocky spikes of red granite that dominate the hill of the same name on the island of Corsica. At 1218 m, the hill connects the Alta Rocca to the east coast of Corsica. From the Col the Bavella (the Bavella Pass) you have great views and can make hikes through the area. The area is good for Suri orao, Žutokljuna galica, Gavran, Bijela Čiopa, Krstokljun, Corsican Nuthatch and Corsican Finch.
The Aiguilles de Bavella are located in South-Corsica, 10 km from Zonza and 30 km from Solenzara. The area is easy accessible through the Col the Bavella mountain pass, where there is a big parking. Press P on the map for directions to the parking.
You can enjoy the views from the viewpoints around the parking, you can explore the hiking trails that leave from the Col de Bavella and just walk the first kilometers or you can do the 11 km circular walk that is indicated on the map. This popular and well-marked trail offers spectacular views. The route, although not very technical, is equipped with a short passage of chains and requires good walking shoes. The altitude difference on the walk is 900 m.
