Description

Siipyy lintutorni (or Sideby fågeltorn) is a 15 meters high bird observation tower on the Gulf of Bothnia near the town of Sideby. On the east side of the tower is a forest, on the west side is the Gulf of Bothnia. You can of course see forest birds, but the tower is especially good for sea birds and migratory birds. Every year several rare bird species are observed from the tower. Bird that are seen more regularly include Žutokljuni Labud, Veliki ronac, Mali ronac, Patka kulašica Crna patka, Patka ledara, Riđogrli Gnjurac, Kratkorepi pomornik, Crna njorka, Oštrokljuna njorka, Crvenogrli Plijenor, Crnogrli Plijenor, Velika čigra, Arktička čigra and Štekavac.

Siipyy lintutorni is located 3 km southwest of the town of Sideby. Adjacent to the tower there is a barbecue area and a parking. Click on the P in the map for directions to the parking.
