Rauvolanlahti (Rauvola Bay) is located on the border of Turku and Kaarina cities. The bay is part of the Natura 2000 network. Rauvolanlahti together with the Katariinanlaako and Vaarniemi nature reserves are a popular bird watching destination. Among the birds you can encounter are Rujnica, Brkata Sjenica, Trstenjak Rogožar, Žuta strnadica, Močvarna Strnadica, Kržulja, Krunata Patka, Patka Batoglavica, Ušati gnjurac, Kokošica and Šljuka Kokošica.

The easiest way to explore the bay is to take the signposted route that starts from the Katariina district as a walkway and continues as duckboards across the bay to the bird watching tower and as a path further to the Vaarniemi grove.
