The island boasts varied natural features: the pine-dominated esker forest is alternated by deep kettle holes and deciduous trees on the shores. On the ancient shore platforms of Lammassaari, you will get a grasp of the water level fluctuations in Lake Saimaa. Along the Lammassaari Nature Trail (Lammassaaren luontopolku), views open out over Lake Saimaa. There are steep ascents along the trail.
