A very good location to see Štekavac. Only one hour from Copenhagen, with good numbers of ducks, geese and other waterbirds.
Tissø is the 4th largest freshwater lake in Denmark. It is easy to acces and overlook. Tissø is home to a rich and varied birdlife and Štekavac breeds here and it is easy to see. Also Bukoč can be seen. On the lake itself Ćubasti Gnjurac, Veliki ronac, various dabbling and diving ducks, geese and Liska are usual residents. The beach meadows and reed beds house many foraging and breeding birds like Modronoga Sabljarka, Mala Čigra, Močvarna Strnadica, Eja Močvarica in addition to Bukavac, Brkata Sjenica, Sjenica Mošnjarka and Pjegavi Cvrčić.
Almost all of the lakeside is on private hands, but there is a publicly accessible birdwatching tower near Fugledegård. Click on the P in the map to get directions to the parking. From there it's a 500 meter walk to the observation tower.
