Description
The Nature reserve Nový rybník is an important breeding site for many reedbed birds such as Modrovoljka, Kokošica, Veliki Trstenjak, Trstenjak Rogožar, Trstenjak cvrkutić, Eja Močvarica, Mlakuša or Močvarna Strnadica. On the pond itself breed many pairs of Riječni Galeb (the only occupied place in Plzensky region), Siva Guska, Liska, Divlja Patka and a few pairs of Patka Kreketaljka, Glavata Patka and Krunata Patka. In the rural areas and meadows breed Rusi Svračak, Pjegavi Cvrčić, Trstenjak Mlakar, Grmuša Pjenica, Slavuj, Poljska Ševa and many others.
During the spring migration you can see birds such as Smeđoglavi Batić, Crnoglavi Batić, Patka Pupčanica, Crna Čigra and many other species of waterfowl. In last years Ždral is a regular guest here, especially in spring time. In late summer and autumn there is little water, which is suitable for Šljuka Kokošica, Vivak, Prutka Migavica and other waders. In winter Veliki svračak is a regular visitor.
Many birds come to spend a night in the reedbed, especially in the end of summer. It is the best place in the area where to watch Čvorak murmuration (thousands of birds). You can also see Lastavica and Žuta Pastirica.

Access
Easily accesible by car. There is a small parking lot in the south of the pond. You can also arrive by public transport using a bus to the city of Líně and then 20 minutes walking using the unpaved road.
