Former sandpit with a protected wetland. Many migratory birds stop and nest here thanks to the great diversity of the environment.
Sablière de Chatillon is a large sand pit with a wetland in the middle of it. The area is surrounded by forest and there is also an area of bushes and shrubs. Among the birds you can encounter are Vijoglav, Škanjac osaš, Bregunica, Kratkokrili Voljić, Ševa Krunica, Rusi Svračak, Bijela Pastirica, Šumska Crvenperka, Grmuša Pjenica, Brezov Zviždak, Sokol Lastavičar and Pčelarica.

Il y a une grande carrière de sable et une zone humide en plein millieu. Autour de la carrière ce sont des grands bois et aussi une zone de buisson et arbustes.
Sablière de Chatillon is located 12 km southwest of the town of Arlon and just north of the village of Chatillon. You can park in front of the barrier which closes access to the sandpit. Press P on the map for directions. From the parking spot you can explore the area on foot. The circular route shown on the map is about 2 km.
