Description
The controlled tides of the Scheldt river give this birding spot some interesting characteristics. As the Bergenmeersen is quite far inland the brackish water and the tidal movement shape this area in a unique salt marsh and mudflats. During migration periods these mudflats attract wader birds like Crnorepa Muljača , Modronoga Sabljarka , Mala Prutka , Krivokljuna Prutka , Crna Prutka , Prutka Migavica , Žalar Cirikavac. On the wooden path that runs trough the area it's possible to see Sjenica Mošnjarka and Brkata Sjenica in the reed beds (mostly during winter). Warblers like Pjegavi Cvrčić , Modrovoljka , Trstenjak Rogožar and Trstenjak cvrkutić are easily to be heard from this wooden path during spring and early summer.
