Description

Spey Bay is situated on the mouth of the River Spey on the coast of the Moray Firth. Sterne pierregarin and Sterne arctique breed in summer. Autumn sees large passage of waders, dispersing seabirds such as Macareux moine, Guillemot de Troïl, Pingouin torda, Cormoran huppé, Mouette tridactyle and Fou de Bassan. In winter and early spring the bay is a sheltered spot for large numbers of sea ducks and divers, also Goéland à ailes blanches and Goéland bourgmestre possible.

Accès

Site is 8 miles east of Nairn, north of the A96 road. Car parking either side of the estuary, in Kingston or Spey Bay village. Click on a P in the map to get directions to that point.
