Description

There is usually a warden on hand in summer with the site being of major conservation interest with its breeding Phalarope à bec étroit pictured. The surrounding moorland has breeding waders in spring / summer including Bécasseau variable, Chevalier gambette, Vanneau huppé, Bécassine des marais and Pluvier doré. Birds of prey are also evident including Faucon émerillon which has its UK stronghold on Lewis. There are regular guided walks throughout June organised by the RSPB to look for Eagles, Râle des genêts, and other species.
