An open area of heather moorland with lots of wildlife about.
Langholm Moor is a beautiful area of heather moorland which has just been bought by the local community, not far from the village of Langholm. It already has breeding Busard Saint-Martin, Hibou des marais and Faucon émerillon, but the community have big plans to protect and increase the breeding birds that make this wonderful place their breeding ground, well worth a trip. Among the other birds you can spot in the area are Pluvier doré, Faucon pèlerin, Alouette des champs, Pipit farlouse, Tarier pâtre, Traquet motteux, Courlis cendré and Merle à plastron.
Langholm Moor is best explored on foot or bike. The area is within walking distance of Langholm village.
