Description
The summit of Bickerton Hill offers marvelous view over the surrounding countryside: on a clear day you can see across nine different counties and over the Welsh mountains. Bickerton is one of the few remaining lowland heaths in Cheshire and it has been designated a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) for its lowland heath plants and wildlife. In addition to the SSSI, its Hether Wood is a Site of Biological Importance. Merle à plastron, Coucou gris, Pinson du Nord, and Pic vert are found there, as well as various warblers, tits and corvids.

Bickerton Hill is located south of Tattenhall and north of Malpas, forming a prominent section of the Mid Cheshire Ridge. Best accessed by car (click P on the map for directions). Sandstone Trail is also passing here. Allow 2 hours for the visit. The circular walking route shown on the map is about 5 km.
