Vali Recep Yazıcıoğlu Barajı is a big artificial lake directly to the east of Denizli. Many water birds are attracted to the area. Among the birds you can see on and around the reservoir are Cigogne blanche, Grèbe castagneux, Aigrette garzette, Pluvier doré, Pluvier argenté, Tournepierre à collier, Vanneau huppé, Vanneau éperonné, Grand Gravelot, Petit Gravelot, Sarcelle d'été, Canard siffleur, Nette rousse, Fuligule morillon, Fuligule nyroca and Flamant rose.
