Description

During autumn bird migration many bird visit or cross the area. Raptors and other soaring birds use the coastal mountain range to move south. Various species of herons and other waterfowl are attracted by the water of the river and the nearby coastal salt marshes. Like Cigogne noire, Crabier chevelu, Bihoreau gris and Vanneau éperonné In the early morning reedbeds and big trees can be full of birds. Big trees often contain resting raptors, such as Aigle criard or Aigle pomarin. Most raptors pas overhead, sometimes at considerable hight, but a drive into the mountains can bring you closer. We spent most of our time checking bushes and marshes around the river mouth and saw many passing raptors like Aigle botté, Busard pâle, Buse féroce and Circaète Jean-le-Blanc anyway.
