Description

Phutthamonthon Park is a vast, serene parkland west of Bangkok, with wide lawns, scattered groves of mature trees, quiet canals, and large open lakes. The landscape feels spacious and calm, with a mix of manicured gardens and more natural patches that attract wildlife.

The variety of habitats with open grassland, wooded areas, wetlands, and water bodies, makes it a rewarding birdwatching spot year-round. Resident species like Asian Koel, White-throated Kingfisher, and Coppersmith Barbet are commonly seen, while the lakes often host Little Cormorant and Purple Heron. In the cooler months, migratory visitors such as Brown Shrike and Asian Brown Flycatcher add to the diversity. Oriental Scops-Owl, Blyth's Paradise-Flycatcher and Hainan Blue Flycatcher are among the iconic birds of this park.

What makes this site especially enjoyable is its peaceful atmosphere compared to central Bangkok, its accessibility, and the ease of walking or cycling through different habitats in a single visit. It’s a place where casual visitors and birdwatchers alike can slow down and enjoy both nature and space.
