Description
The mouth of the Thiène / Zihl Canal into Lake Neuchâtel offers plenty to see. You can walk out onto one of the two stone dams and enjoy a view of nearly the entire lake. A breeding float for Sterne pierregarin is located to the left, in front of the reeds. During migration season, it's a great place to look for rare birds in the early morning, especially waders and terns. Species such as Sterne hansel or Bécasseau maubèche have been seen at this location. In winter, guests like Harle huppé and Macreuse brune may be observed at large.
