Falätsche

Zürich  >  Switzerland

Fallätsche has a completely different climate than the rest of the forest around. With the bushes, pines and clearings, the area is reminiscent of the south.

Description

Falätsche has a very diverse vegetation due to frequent landslides. Down at the foot of the area it reminds you of a mixed forest in central Europe, but on the slopes it feels more like a mountain slope in southern Europe. In the open forest there are various orchids in May and June. But the Falätsche also offers bird species, which are rare in Mittelland, such as Pouillot de Bonelli Accenteur mouchet Pic noir, Pic mar, Grand Corbeau Martinet à ventre blanc Fauvette babillarde, Gobemouche gris, Bouvreuil pivoine, Gros-bec casse-noyaux, Grive draine and Autour des palombes.
