Bonstettenpark

Thun  >  Switzerland

The Bonstettenpark is a nice recreation area at the Lake Thun close to the Kanderdelta and offers a good habitat for waterbirds.

Description

The Bonstettenpark is located on the western shore of Lake Thundersee and is often used by families and dog owners for walking, but there are still many birds here and they are easy to observe thanks to the partly open area. Part of the shore/water is also under nature protection. Birds that can be observed here are among others Cygne tuberculé, Grèbe huppé, Canard colvert, Foulque macroule, Gallinule poule-d'eau, Goéland leucophée, Mouette rieuse, Grand Cormoran. Some birds are also relatively trusting because they are used to people. This also makes Bonstettenpark a good place for bird photography.
