The big uppside with Stavstensudde may not be the amount of waders but how close you get to the birds. From the shelter one can get a very good view.
During migration from mid april to early june, and late july to early october this is a nice site for watching a good variety of shorebirds. For example Tournepierre à collier, Bécasseau minute, Bécasseau sanderling, Bécasseau maubèche, Combattant varié, Bécasseau falcinelle, Bécasseau de Temminck, Barge rousse and Pluvier argenté. Also several pairs of Sterne naine are breeding.
Rarities that have been seen here are Gravelot à collier interrompu, Gravelot mongol, Chevalier stagnatile, Chevalier à pattes jaunes and Bécasseau tacheté.
In winter time islandic Chevalier gambette and northern Grand Gravelot and sometimes Bécasseau violet can be seen.

If going by bus, take number 1 from Trelleborg train staion to Trelleborg Drivgarnet and walk. Unfortunately its a quite long walk but the last bit you can walk by the sea.
If going by car follow road E6 and turn S towards Fredshög and Stavstensudde.
