Description
The Långfjället Nature Reserve is one of Sweden’s largest. The highest peak is Storvätteshogna, at 1204 m. It has areas of pure primeval forest without traces of forestry. On the moutain plateau it is lovely walking with plenty of birds on top and in dales. Lots of Lagopède alpin, Pipit farlouse, Pluvier doré and Traquet motteux. You also find Mésangeai imitateur (in the coniferous forest) and Chevalier aboyeur (around small bog areas in the forest). And along the streams and rivers the Cincle plongeur is a common sight. In the lakes and streams you can find ducks like Sarcelle d'hiver, Garrot à oeil d'or and Plongeon arctique.You can also encounter moose, foxes, martens and brown bears.
