Lake Lagårdssjön in Strömsholm is ranked as one of the best birding sites in Västmanland. From a nice platform (that is handicapped accessible) you have a good view over the wetland. Especially in the spring, the lake is well visited by ducks, geese and waders. A spotting scope is a must. Among the birds you can encounter are Chevalier sylvain, Petit Gravelot, Pygargue à queue blanche, Oie cendrée, Canard souchet, Guifette noire, Grue cendrée, Faucon hobereau, Bécassine des marais, Balbuzard pêcheur and many more, see the birdlist below.
