Accessible place to watch local birds when in Longyearbyen. Take a walk or ciclye from the town up the valley towards Nybyen and along the church.

Description

Because of the of the risk of Polar Bear encounters it is not allowed to go outside the village without a rifle or an armed guard. These places are within the village, so they offer a good possibility to watch local birds safely. Rental bicycles are available at the tourist office in Longyearbyen for ~40 NOK per day.
