Description

Parque Forestal Valdebebas - Felipe IV consists of a young forest of native vegetation, though an area to the south does have older trees. Most of the area is dominated by stone pines, which hold all of the common birds of the area. The park has several streams and and two small lakes. These attract birds such as Bergeronnette des ruisseaux, Rémiz penduline, Râle d'eau (uncommon), Martin-pêcheur d'Europe and sometimes Tadorne casarca. Some other ducks, like Canard chipeau, might occasionally show up. Waders, such as Chevalier culblanc can also appear. There have been records of Oedicnème criard. During winter, the top part of the park is very good for Grive mauvis, with Grive litorne also being present. Some raptors like Vautour moine might fly over, but this isn't a good spot for them. Chevêche d'Athéna is present, however, the park is closed at night, making other owl species sightings scarce. Grue cendrée might ocassionally fly over during winter.
