Apart from the nice view (which is typical of the character of the National park), this viewpoint is a good place to see one of the most iconic birds of the entire region: Vautour moine which nests on the slopes opposite the viewpoint. Cigogne noire, Circaète Jean-le-Blanc, Pie ibérique, Engoulevent à collier roux and Aigle botté may also be seen.

Easily reached from both Torrejon el Rubio and Plasencia. After crossing the dam over the river Tietar, follow the road, through the pine woodland for a couple of kilometers, the viewpoint is then located on the right side of the road. Check the electricity pylons surrounding the site for Circaète Jean-le-Blanc!
