Description

Las Tablas de Daimiel National Park are a special wetland in Europe because of the ecosystem called river tables. A complex ecosystem that mixes the characteristics of a floodplain, produced by the overflows of the Guadiana and Gigella rivers at their confluence. These overflows, favored by the scarcity of slope in the terrain, are paired with the development of a powerful and characteristic plant cover that constitutes an exceptional habitat for birds linked to an aquatic environment. You can spend a pleasant day walking along any of the marked routes. Among the birds you can see here are Grand Cormoran, Grue cendrée, Gallinule poule-d'eau, Oie cendrée, Échasse blanche, Bruant proyer, Rollier d'Europe, Phragmite des joncs, Busard des roseaux, Panure à moustaches, Cigogne blanche, Coucou geai and Rémiz penduline. And many more, see the birdlist below.
