If you are tired of seeing Vautour fauve and not spotting the Aigle ibérique, the stop at the French Fountain (Fuente del Francés) will be your reward of the day. Especially in the late afternoon (when the birds come down to drink and there is less audience). If you come from the south, just before crossing the bridge, in a small setting surrounded by trees and in the shade, there is this wonderful (and historic) fountain, which all the birds in the area appreciate. There is also a path for a pleasant walk.

Espagnol: Uno de los mejores sitios del Parque Nacional de Monfragüe para ver pequeñas-medianas aves cuando acuden a beber. Si estás cansado de ver Vautour fauve y no avistar el Aigle ibérique , la parada en la Fuente del Francés será tu recompensa del día, especialmente a última hora de la tarde (cuando las aves bajan a beber y hay menos público). Si vienes desde el sur, justo antes de cruzar el puente, en un pequeño entorno rodeado de árboles y a la sombra, existe esta maravillosa (e histórica fuente), que todas las aves de la zona agradecen. También hay un sendero por el que dar un agradable paseo.

The site is well signposted and there is easy parking. Better not park directly at the source, as some do. There is a path that goes up to the Castle of Monfragüe, crossing the Salto del Gitano, only suitable for the brave!

Espagnol: No tiene pérdida si cruzas el parque. EX-208. El sitio está bien señalizado y hay aparcamiento fácil. Mejor no aparcar directamente en la fuente, como algunos hacen. Hay un sendero que sube hasta el Castillo de Monfragüe, cruzando el Salto del Gitano, sólo apto para valientes!
