In the vicinity of the lake Estany Pudent, the greatest biodiversity is concentrated with the best opportunities for bird watching. Along the road from La Savina to the village of Es Pujols you can already see the first typical birds of this area, such as Flamant rose, Avocette élégante and Tadorne de Belon. It is easy to see the natural wealth of this area.
If you take a walk along the road from Es Brolls, which runs around the Estany Pudent, you can spot many waders, ducks and herons. The road from Es Brolls runs along much of the lagoon and, as the Catalan name implies, it has underground springs. Thanks to these fresh water springs, this place has an ideal vegetation for bird nesting. The Estany Pudent is home to one of the most important concentrations of Grèbe à cou noir in Europe. Some years, thousands are counted. A calm day, when the water of the lake looks like a mirror, can turn into a surprising show.
