Description

Changgyeonggung is a palace built in the 15th century with beautiful aesthetics, visited by a number of tourists as well as the birds. It is an easily accessible place with easy walking trail, which makes it a charming birdwatching place, especially for beginners. You can watch the Mandarin Duck in the pond inside the palace from a close distance. Other notable species are Eurasian Wren and Red-flanked Bluetail. It is also often visited by Bohemian Waxwing and Japanese Waxwing in late winter.

Changgyeonggung Palace is located in central Seoul, in the Jongno District. Access is easy by public transport, there are many buses that go to the palace in Seoul City. Korean citizens under the age of 25 or foreigners under 20 are free to enter. Even if you are over the age, the entrance fee is very cheap.
