Description

Belo Brdo ('White Hill') is a Neolithic archeological site (4000 B.C.) in Vinča that is also a great place for gull watching. Thousands of gulls come to the Danube River near Vinča in winter. There is also a 'gull highway' connecting the Belo Brdo with Belgrade city's main landfill, with thousands of gulls flying in both directions over the hilly slopes of Vinča.

Mouette rieuse, Goéland leucophée, and Goéland pontique are common in winter, while Goéland cendré and Goéland brun are very often spotted. Sometimes Goéland argenté and Goéland marin, can be seen, although they are pretty rare in Serbia.

There are two good places to watch gulls in Vinča. One is near the archeological site Belo Brdo and the other, maybe even better, is at the ferry-place. Follow one of the 'P' markings on the map.
