Estação Agronómica Oeiras is an agricultural research institute. A green area of 130 hectares that is conventiently close to the centre of Oeiras and the railway station. The Estação Agronómica provides a variety of habitats (active farmland, abandoned farmland, woods, a stream) and about 100 bird species have been recorded. Hirondelle rousseline, Hirondelle de fenêtre, Hirondelle rustique and Hirondelle de rochers can all be seen. The stream of Rio das Parreiras is reliable for Bergeronnette des ruisseaux and Martin-pêcheur d'Europe.

Estação Agronómica is conventiently close to the centre of Oeiras and on walking distance from the railway station. The area is easily walkable with good paths. There is a cafe on site. The suggested circular walking route on the map is about 4 km. Good access to restaurants in the surrounding area.
