Wielkie Błoto is a large peat bog ecosystem located in the western part of the Niepołomice Forest. It formed due to poor drainage from the terraces of the Wisła and Raba rivers. Very large area, easy access by car, parking, shelter at the entrance. Fantastic roads for walking and cycling. I spent hours there with binoculars and camera. This place must be experienced. It is wild and beautiful. Birds I managed to observe include Bécasse des bois, Bouvreuil pivoine, Pinson du Nord, Cigogne noire, Bécassine des marais, Buse variable, Grive litorne, Pic épeichette, Pic noir, Pic épeiche, Pinson des arbres, Mésange charbonnière, Mésange bleue, Mésange nonnette, Sittelle torchepot and Chouette hulotte.

Polski: Wielkie błoto, kraina wodnych ptaków. Teren bagnisty, warto założyć kalosze. Mnóstwo ptaków, pospolitych ale również tych bardzo rzadkich. Spędziłem tam 4h, a widziałem bardzo ciekawe gatunki. Bardzo duży teren, łatwy dojazd autem, parking, wiata na wjeździe. Rewelacyjne drogi do spacerowania, jazdy rowerem. Z lornetką czy aparatem spędzałem tam godziny. Tego miejsca nie da się opisać, to trzeba przeżyć. Jest dziki, czysto i pięknie. Udało mi się tam zobaczyć (a nawet niektóre sfotografować): Bécasse des bois, Bouvreuil pivoine, Pinson du Nord, Cigogne noire, Bécassine des marais, Buse variable, Grive litorne, Pic épeichette, Pic noir, Pic épeiche, Pinson des arbres, Mésange charbonnière, Mésange bleue, Mésange nonnette, Sittelle torchepot, Chouette hulotte.

Wielkie Błoto is located 30 km east of the city of Krakow. It is best to drive to the parking lot next to the railway crossing (bridge). Press P on the map for directions. There you can leave your car and go for a walk. You can also ride a bike from Niepołomice (about 5-10 km). Because this is a marshy and wet area, it is worth wearing rubber boots.

Polski: Najlepiej podjechać autem na parking obok przejazdu kolejowego (mostu). Tam można zostawić pojazd i na pieszo wybrać się na spacer. Można również z Niepołomic dojechać rowerem (ok 5-10km).
